Transition Resources

Everyone's transition and gender journey is unique. It can be helpful to connect with other trans folx to see how others decide what feels most affirming as they navigate their transitions. Typically, we think of transitions as having three main categories: social, medical, and legal. Here are some resources that can help explore different ways to transition:

Coming Out/Inviting In

For some trans and queer people, they may desire to "come out" or disclose their gender identity or sexual identity to others. Sometimes we think of this as "inviting in" so the burden is less on the queer/trans person to enter into a cis-hetero world and instead they invite a trusted person to know them more fully. This can be helpful at times or it can be really dangerous, depending on many factors. Here are some guides to help people think through the coming out process:

Taking care of your sexual health is crucial for TGD individuals. See the resources below that are designed specifically for queer and trans individuals:

Spiritual Resources

Though some religious institutions target trans and queer people, religion and spirituality can be very important for some trans and gender diverse people. Having a connection to a religious or spiritual community that is affirming is hugely helpful especially for those whose religion or spiritual connection remains very important to them.
